Subject: RE: [xri] Resolution: ... where's "Drummond Reed" in the XRDS?

Agreed on a +1 for a human readable label. Rdfs:label is extremely
useful for RDF visualization and editing tools, something similar for
XRDS would be very nice but as you pointed out has additional
considerations so may take the form of a prose description endpoint.
Though..to me that would map in RDF to a rdfs:comment. Nice thing about
something with text value embedded in the XRDS is that you don't need to
look it up, the tool has it right there.

By the way, was a mechanism ever settled on how to register new service
endpoint types, or if such a registration process will exist? To my
knowledge the only registry is the wiki one at http://xrdstype.net/. Is
that the standard one at present?

I ask as I'd like to register two service types: one for
resource-description, i.e. an endpoint that provides additional metadata
on the resource described by XRD, and one for self-description, i.e. an
endpoint that provides metadata on the enveloping XRD itself.

Nick, the agenda is so packed for tomorrow's call that I didn't add this
to it but I definitely believe the XRI TC should discuss this because it
makes a lot of sense. And given the intense interest in XRD-based
discovery, it's a best practice we want to establish/encourage in the
new spec.
