Mary, thanks very much for the cogent advice. I suspected this would be the case -- I once went through submitting an OASIS Standard vote for December, and we withdrew it at the very end because we realized trying to get out the vote the last two weeks of December was going to be hell.

The only other month that may be worse is August.

So, unless any TC member objects (in writing by sending a reply to this message), our goal will be to submit by August 15 for a September vote.

That said, the earlier we get the prep done, the better, because August will be a slow month anyway. So Will, let's continue with getting the Statements of Use and requesting the vote.

My advice is to wait. I have given the same advice to the KMIP TC who currently has two ballots to submit for OS underway; that although they will have sufficient time to submit on/before 15 July, that my recommendation is that they request the actual ballot to be run in Sept.

Once this current CS vote is closed and we have the three statements of use in hand, we must have one final vote to request that XRD be submitted for an OASIS Standard vote.  That must commence before the 15th of the month.  If we move quickly, we can do that by July 15th, otherwise we can do it next month.

(and even though we do have the required votes for CS, I'd like to have as near a unanimous decision as possible.... please go vote if you haven't already)
