Hi Will,
The revision history is the summary of changes made over time since document inception.
Previous version always list the previous iteration uploaded to docs. If you go to http://docs.oasis-open.org/xri/xrd/v1.0/ you'll see cd01, cd02, cd03. CD01 has no previous version. CD02 shows CD01 as the previous version. CD03 shows CD02 as the previous version. etc. The previous version to CS01 is CD03. It's the lifecycle chain. For OS (should the TC decide to bring the spec for a successful OS vote) the previous version would be the CS.

yes, thanks!
I know the revision history at the bottom of the specification is removed before publishing as an OASIS Standard. But what about Committee Specification? Should it have the revision history or not?
What should the "previous version" be for the Committee Specification? I believe on previous drafts, I was using the previous version within the same stage. So CD03 listed as its "previous version" CD02, rather than whatever the previous WD was. This is just my interpretation of "previous version", however. The OASIS Naming Guidelines define previous version as "the immediate genetic ancestor of any given instance". I'm not entirely sure what that means, nor am I sure if my use of "previous version" is consistent with that. Upon further reading, it appears my use of "previous version" is actually more consistent with "previous approved version".
Mary, could you confirm what should be included on CS01? We've never actually included the "previous approved version" on any of our published specs, so it would seem strange to start now. Should I include CD03 or "none" as the previous version?
thanks, will
