Subject: Re: [xri] XRD and related specifications

yes, everything is on track.  Drummond, would you please verify (in a separate email to the list) that no minority reports were submitted by any TC members who did not vote in favor of the Committee Specification.  That's item (k) on http://wiki.oasis-open.org/xri/XrdOne/OSSubmission.

Great summary, Eran. I take it this is part of our submission for the OASIS Standard vote.

Will, is everything else on track for that (given that the submission deadline is tomorrow)? Do we need to have an XRI TC telecon this Thursday?

XRD 1.0 is a much simplified version of the XRDS 2.0 [1] OASIS document format. It is fully aligned with the IETF Web Linking RFC [2] , borrowing much from the ATOM format [3] <link> element. XRD has a similar purpose as POWDER [4] from the W3C, but is significantly simpler and optimized for identity and service discovery use cases. It also has some potential overlap with ISO 13250 (Topic Maps) [5], but is much simpler and more appropriate for new web services development. XRD 1.0 is being used by the OASIS WS-Calendar specification [6] proposal, as well as the IETF host-meta proposal [7].
