Subject: RE: Call for Nominations - meetings
I have no facilities to sponsor teleconferences but would prefer only two meetings on the East coast. Perhaps we could have a West coast meeting at a conference if we need more. I do have a lot of friends and relatives in DC area so I can attend more if necessary. Sorry I have been uncommunicative but we have three products being introduced next month and just made 3 big sales in Europe and there are only 7 of us. Yada, yada ... Anyway, my company will donate a testing harness to the committee for its use. Our testing software has the advantages of browsing capabilities, a test case repository, suites of test cases, reporting, etc. (http://wwww.classiq.com/). We found it fairly easy (less than a week development time) to incorporate component testing for applications that send XML over HTTP either in EAI or as individual applications and XML application simulation into our tool. Our solution for Suns Forte Fusion is released in June. We have no plans to sell XSLT conformance certification and will probably volunteer our services in some way for publicity or as an easy way to test our web portal testing technology later this year. Again, I am naive about XSLT so you can supply guidance on how our tool can be used for the committees efforts. ======================================== Lynda VanVleet | "Before one can Testing Engineer | understand Class I.Q. | recursion, one lvanvleet@classiq.com | must understand www.classiq.com | recursion." I agree, but we don't have anyone yet to sponsor the teleconferences. Folks, please talk to your management to see if anyone is willing to help us with the teleconference. What is your opinion about having only two official meetings? We could launch June 5 and then meet again in December at XML'2000 ... we could shoot for a draft by December and a final for XTech next year, perhaps. I don't think we need a lot of face-to-face because once we launch to our target, we just work away ... I don't think there are a lot of voting decisions to be made.
