Subject: Re: [xslt-conformance] Tests for review
Carmelo asks: >I will like to get the committee's opinion on the matter regarding the >review of the tests by two non-committee members. Having more people look at the tests is beneficial, but we need to set a plan or policy for what we do if either person objects to a test. If the person is a voting member of this committee, then they agree to our policies of consensus and referral. If a non-member convinces at least one voting member that a valid objection exists, then the voting member can bring the objection into our system. If a non-member objects to a test but gets no concurrence from a voting member, how do we deal with the objection? This is not an abstract issue, as we already have objections from a person affiliated with Mozilla. (They are using the Xalan test suite, and would use the OASIS suite when published.) I am trying to draw in a TC member from Mozilla; they really should join since they could get a lot of benefit from the suite and apparently have people who know XSLT in sufficient detail. Having an involved member is better for us than an external critic with no solid commitment. .................David Marston
