XML.org Steering Committee

The XML.org Registry and Repository is currently in Quality Assurance testing, until Friday, May 26th. During the QA period you can search the repository and submit registry items, but please follow the directions in Objective 1.4 very carefully in order to prevent interference with QA Testing.

Objective: Request to become a submitter.

Assumptions:

  • Assumes the user has knowledge of web browsers and html forms.
 

1.1

Launch a web browser and enter the URL http://gigantis.documentum.com/RightSite/index.htm

Web browser is launched and the XML.org main page is displayed.

1.2

Click on the link button Submit XML Schemas.

Log In page displays.

1.3

Select the link Request to Become a Submitter.

The Request to become a Submitter form displays.

1.4

In the General Information section:

  • Enter your Title, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email, Street, City, State, Zip, and Corporate Title.

The next entry is necessary to prevent interfering with QA Testing. Enter the following:

Organization: Steering Committee

In the Submitting Organization Information section enter values in the following fields using your own organization information:

  • URI:
  • URL:
  • Street:
  • City:
  • State:
  • Zip:
  • Phone:
  • Fax:
  • Email:

 

Select the Continue button.

The Create Request Succeeded page displays.

Select the Done button.

The XML.org main web page displays.

Close the browser.

The Request to Become a Submitter has been sent to the Registry Administrator. When the request is approved the requester will receive an email containing the registry user name and password.

Objective: Log in as a submitter.

Assumptions:

  • Assumes the user has knowledge of web browsers and html forms.
  • Assumes the user already has a log on with the proper security levels in the Solaris OS and in the docbase.
 

2.1

Launch a web browser and enter the URL http://gigantis.documentum.com/RightSite/index.htm

Web browser is launched and the XML.org main page is displayed.

2.2

Click on the Submit XML Schemas button.

Log In page displays.

2.3

Enter your log on Name and Password.

Select the Log In button.

The Submission List page is displayed.

     
     

3.0

Objective: Create a new submission with a related link, and a registry item (hosted internally).

  • Assumes the user has knowledge of web browsers and html forms.
  • Assumes the user already has a log on with the proper security levels in the Solaris OS and in the docbase.
  • Assumes the user is still logged on from the previous test case.
  • Assumes the Submission List page is displayed.
 

3.1

On the Submission List page, select the Create New Submission link.

A new submission form is displayed.

3.2

Make the following entries on the Submission form using data from the metadata.xls table below:

  • Title
  • Type:
  • Short Name:
  • Submission Language:
  • Version:
  • IPR ID: pick one
  • Contact Information section: Enter your contact information.

Select the Add a Registry Item link.

The Import page displays.

3.3

Select the Browse… button.

The Choose File window displays.

Search for the file that was provided with these instructions. You’re adding this as a registry item (hosted internally).

Select the Open button.

The file path and name appear in the Import file: text box.

Place your cursor in the Type field.

The file name appears in the Import As: > Name: text box.

Select a Format: using the drop down field.

Select the Continue Import button.

The Import page displays.

3.7

Select Finish Import.

The Perform Submission Task page displays.

Select the Create a Registry Item (Hosted Externally) link.

The Confirm Create a Registry Item (Hosted Externally) page displays.

Make the following entries:

  • Title: see the metadata.xls table below
  • Description: enter something that makes sense
  • Target: enter the first URL in the metadata.xls table below

Select the Continue button.

The Create a Registry Item (Hosted Externally) Succeeded page displays.

Select the Done button.

The Perform Submission Task page for this submission displays.

Select the Create a Related Link link.

The Confirm Create Related Link page displays.

Make the following entries:

  • Description: enter something that makes sense
  • Target: enter the second URL in the metadata.xls table below

Select the Continue button.

The Create a Related Link Succeeded page displays.

Select the Done button.

The Perform Submission Task page for this submission displays.

Select the link to your submission at the top of the page.

The list of components page displays, listing the registry item and related link you added.

All components are in Draft status.

Objective: Submit for review.

  • Assumes the user has knowledge of web browsers and html forms.
  • Assumes the user already has a log on with the proper security levels in the Solaris OS and in the docbase.
  • Assumes the user is still logged on from the previous test case and the submission list of components page is displayed.
  • Assumes the list of submission components is displayed.
 

4.1

Select the Actions link next to your submission.

The Perform Submission Task page for your submission displays.

4.2

Select the Submit For Review link.

The Confirm Submit For Review page displays.

4.3

Enter some comments in the Submission Comments text box.

Select the Continue button.

The Submit for Review Succeeded page displays.

4.4

Select the Done button.

The Perform Submission Task page displays.

4.5

Close the browser.

The Subject Matter Expert receives the submission in their submission list, reviews the submission, and accepts or rejects the submission.

     
     

5.1

Objective: Search the repository.

  • Assumes the user has knowledge of web browsers and html forms.
  • Assumes all sessions of the browser have been closed.
 

5.2

Launch a web browser and enter the URL

http://gigantis.documentum.com:2020/

 

5.3

Enter a single or multiple search terms in the search field to find your approved submissions and/or components.

The Repository Search Results page displays.

The approved submissions and/or components which meet the search criteria are listed.

5.4

Select the Advanced Search link.

The Advanced Search page displays.

5.5

Search using different property values.

The Repository Search Results page displays.

The approved submissions and/or components which meet the search criteria are listed.

5.6
