Dear ACXO,

As you may be aware, OASIS has hired a General Manager for XML.ORG.  Leo
Kraunelis joined OASIS in late December, and has been working very hard on
an aggressive development plan.

Having co-founded two successful companies, Leo brings to us extensive
experience in business planning and development, sales and marketing. Leo's
first priority is establishing the business plan and strategic direction for
XML.ORG.

Next week, Leo will present his preliminary plan to the OASIS Board of
Directors.  I am very enthusiastic about this plan, and am confident that
the Board will have a similar reaction.

Once the details of the plan are refined, Leo will solicit feedback from the
ACXO.

I second Michael's original email sent out in July...
Now I know we're all busy folks, but we really should think about what to do
with XML.org. It's a GREAT brand, and with the development of UDDI and the
ebXML Registry, I hate to say it, but the XML.org Registry is not going to
be essential in the emerging distributed service-based environment. I
suggest that we reconvene the ACXO to discuss what to do with XML.org.

Hi,
I'm lonely without you guys.  Perhaps we should get together again for a
call now that the Registry has been live for a few weeks.  I'd like to get
a status on how things have been operating, plans for any improvements and
ideas to increase submissions.  Maybe a face-to-face during the ebXML or
Montreal meetings is also possible.
