Subject: Jira introductory materials - from TC Admin
On page https://www.oasis-open.org/resources/tcadmin in the left
navigation bar, the first two items are IMO the most useful - how
the OASIS Jira implementation is configured, and (if familiar with
the "old" version) how the new version is different. The direct links are https://www.oasis-open.org/sites/www.oasis-open.org/files/Introducing-new-JIRA.pdf https://www.oasis-open.org/sites/www.oasis-open.org/files/JIRA-for-standards-dev-03-10-14.pdf The main workflow is New --> Open --> Resolved --> Applied --> Closed with loop backs (edits rejected from applied to Open), reopen, etc. Best IMO to "Open" when starting work, insert resolution field when the person working the issue thinks its resolved, etc. Also watch the "assigned" field when creating a new issue; the default may not be what you expect (but can easily be changed by anyone with edit permissions, which should be most of us). When Applied, an issue can be closed. I always plan a motion as part of approval of a Committee Specification Draft (for public review) that says roughly "The TC approves all resolutions and the closing of all open issues addressed in this CSD") Thanks! bill --
