Subject: Re: [amqp-ms] OASIS AMQP v1.0 has been approved by ISO/IEC JTC 1 as an International Standard

OASIS tradition calls for cake and champagne to celebrate de jure approval. When are you guys having a F2F?

Congratulations!

Thanks to OASIS for successfully driving this through ISO/IEC JTC 1 and delivering on time per schedule: https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp/download.php/48614/Timeline%20for%20AMQP%20TC%20deliverables.htm!

Reflecting on the journey:

·         OASIS TC formed (Oct 2011)

·         AMQP 1.0 OASIS Standard approved (Oct 2012)

·         AMQP 1.0 International Standard (March 2014)

It has been quite a march. A proud moment indeed for all of us!

On this occasion, our sincere gratitude goes to John O’Hara who seeded AMQP way back in 2003 and has always been a guiding light all along!

And special thanks to Laurie Bryson and Mathew Arrott for shepherding the AMQP work over the years, and the TC members, especially Rob Godfrey, David Ingham, and Rafi Schloming whose technical contributions over the years helped shape the specification!

Subject: [amqp-ms] OASIS AMQP v1.0 has been approved by ISO/IEC JTC 1 as an International Standard

Dear Colleagues:  We are happy to confirm that the Secretariat for ISO/IEC JTC 1 has confirmed that the PAS ballot for approving AMQP as an ISO/IEC International Standard was approved, with 100% favorable votes, and ISO/IEC have commenced their publication production work.  Please see the attached notification.

Your AMQP v1.0 became ISO/IEC DIS 19464 (a "Draft International Standard") upon its publication for balloting purposes in November.  It should retain that same number as an "IS" rather than "DIS," becoming ISO/IEC IS 19464:2014.

Official publication of the document with the ISO and IEC logos, and updating by JTC 1 of its status reporting on their official websites, will follow in due course.   In the meantime, my colleague Carol Geyer is working with your TC and Section leadership to make appropriate arrangements for our formal public announcement.

Congratulations and thanks again to everyone.

    Cordially, Jamie
