Advancing AMQP 1.0 to OASIS Committee Specification Draft

As discussed during the Technical Committee (TC) meeting on Oct 25^th, we expect the AMQP 1.0 Working Draft to be approved and advanced to Committee Specification Draft (CSD) on Nov 22^nd. In preparation towards that, the TC agreed to Nov 15^th as the cut-off date for filing issues (those that will be addressed in the CSD). So, please review the AMQP 1.0 specification (http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp/download.php/43930/amqp-1.0.zip) and file any comments on or before Nov 15^th.

 

The editors are in the process of producing the first Working Draft (WD) of the AMQP 1.0 specification. That draft will primarily be the contribution cited above, but in the OASIS format that includes the front page OASIS specification material and the OASIS copyright. The first WD is expected on or before the next TC meeting on Nov 8^th.

 

General reminder: It is important that we bring forth all substantive issues (those that may result in breaking changes or wire level protocol changes to the specification) before the CSD approval. Doing so will avoid delays later – for example, substantive changes during or after the public review will reset the clock and take the specification back to Working Draft stage! So, do your best to carefully review the specification and bring forth substantive issues if any on or before Nov 15^th!

 

In summary, here is a projected timeline towards Committee Specification Draft:

·       On or before Nov 8^th

o   First Working Draft of AMQP 1.0 available!

·       Nov 15^th

o   Cut-off date for issues (that will be addressed in the Committee Specification Draft).

·       Nov 22^nd

o   Approval of Committee Specification Draft.

o   Decide on submitting the Committee Specification Draft for public review.
