Next steps to Committee Specification and Candidate OASIS Standard

Following up from the discussion at the TC meeting (on July 3^rd) about preparing towards approving Committee Specification, I want to confirm (and lay out ) the next steps:

1.       Complete the current public review (July 5) as planned.

2.       Following the public review and assuming there are no more comments received by July 5 (end of public review period),

a.       Dispose TC admin’s feedback comments 1 as follows: “Given the impact analysis by the TC admin (in the comment email), the TC has been determined that this could be addressed later”.

b.      Address the changes to the front page matter resulting from TC admin’s feedback comment 2.

3.       Approve Committee Specification (July 10).

a.       Prior to July 10^th, the editors will take Committee Specification Draft 02 and prepare Committee Specification 01. Note: The Committee Specification 01 will NOT contain fixes for the broken links in the HTML rendition (TC admin’s comment 1) but will contain fixes to the front page matter (TC admin’s comment 2).

b.      TC votes on a motion to request a Special Majority Ballot to approve the Committee Specification Draft 02 as Committee Specification 01.

c.       The chairs will request the TC admin to start the Special Majority ballot on July 10^th.

d.      The earlier the Special Majority e-ballot can start (per TC process) is July 13^th and will close on July 20^th.

4.       July 25:

a.       The board is expected to review the proposed changes to the TC process (pertaining to the public review process) and make a decision.

5.       July 31 (assuming the board approves the proposed changes to the TC process pertaining to the public review process)

a.       Prior to July 31^st, the editors will prepare a Candidate OASIS Standard (containing fixes for the HTML generation problems per comment 1 from TC admin).

b.      Prior to July 31^st, the TC needs at least three Statements of Use.

c.       The TC will vote on a motion to request a Special Majority Ballot on advancing Committee Specification 01 as a Candidate OASIS Standard.

d.      The chairs will request the TC admin to start the Special Majority ballot on July 31^st and provide the required required information per TC process.

e.       TC admin will start Special Majority Ballot straight away and the e-ballot will end on August 7^th.

f.        TC admin will load the Candidate OASIS Standard and announce the public review period and we...

6.       March on with the rest of the timeline!

 

Our TC admin (Chet) is aware of this plan above and confirms it is feasible.
