Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Created: (AMQP-93) Discovery of operation attributes or entity attributes

Discovery of operation attributes or entity attributes
------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: AMQP-93
                 URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/AMQP-93
Project: OASIS Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) TC
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Management/Monitoring
    Affects Versions: WD02
            Reporter: Jakub Scholz

The specification expects that the entities / entity types as well as the operations might have some attributes. However, these attributes are never mentioned in the DISCOVER-* operations. It is great that I can discover which entity types or which operations does the management node support. But the DISCOVER-TYPES returns only the names of the types and the DISCOVER-OPERATIONS returns only list of supported operations. But is it really useful if I don't know:
- Which attributes does the operation expect / require
- Which attributes does the entity / entity type have?

If we expect that all types and operations should be fully discoverable using the management protocol, we need to either extend the existing DISCOVER-* operations or add some new operations. If we expect the data from the DISCOVER-* operations only to "link" to a repository of entities with their attributes and operations on the amqp.org (similarly to the AMQP 1.0 filters etc.), it should be probably mentioned in the document.
