OASIS has experienced tremendous growth in its membership, inspired by the 
launching of XML.org (http://www.xml.org), the XML Industry Portal. In 
response to that growth, OASIS is expanding its member services programs 
and broadening the scope of its technical work.

We are actively seeking highly motivated individuals who share our
commitment to structured information standards. Being involved with OASIS
gives one a birds-eye view into everything that's happening in the XML
industry today. This is meaningful work in an exciting industry within a
startup environment. Currently, the following employment opportunity is
available:


MANAGING EDITOR, XML.org

This is a unique opportunity for an energetic and organized internet
publishing professional to drive the development of the XML industry's
most important portal: XML.org.

The Managing Editor will:
- Develop and implement engaging and creative editorial strategy
- Manage all content-focused aspects of the site, including coordinating
with a team of internal and external resources to develop and/or procure
informative, relevant content
- Help solve complex design and navigation issues and shape site
requirements
- Direct the creative team in developing information and UI design
- Serve as an evangelist/advocate for the portal
- Review, define and manage the site architecture and the technologies 
deployed
to support it
- Advise executive management with respect to new business opportunities 
for the portal and its content


Experience Required:
- 3+ years experience managing Web site strategy, definition, and
production
- Comprehension of the power of the medium from a marketing perspective
- Demonstrated sucess in developing and/or procuring informative, relevant 
content
- A proven track record in large-scale website development and extensive
experience with online editorial production
- Adept at understanding the business impact of information technology and 
translating technical concepts
- Demonstrated ability to increase site traffic

NOTE: Favorable consideration will be shown to applicants with previous
experience with structured information standards.
