For Immediate Release

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 28, 2000 - Netfish Technologies, Inc. today
announced the creation of a new business unit and a strategic direction to
deliver the Netfish XDI eProcessT platform, a unique set of business tools
and services that enable trading portal operators to transform their current
B2B e-commerce marketplaces into next-generation process hubs.
Using the XDI eProcess platform, portal operators can quickly move beyond
existing buy/sell transactions and begin offering their enterprise customers
complete supply chain solutions that integrate catalog-based procurement
with back-end product delivery and fulfillment processes. The XDI eProcess
platform is the key to automating core business processes, as well as
integrating portals with existing internal business systems and data.

"Portal operators now have a complete, industrial-strength solution enabling
them to offer end-to-end B2B solutions that integrate and optimize a variety
of business processes, in addition to buying and selling processes," said
Jim Dills, vice president of the Net Markets Business Unit at Netfish. "The
Netfish XDI eProcess Platform lets portal operators create advanced B2B
services they can use to differentiate their offerings and make them more
competitive."

Netfish today also announced that it had entered into strategic
relationships with leading portal operators, Freightquote.com, Postgirot
Bank AB, SendOrder.com, RetailMetro.com, WorldCatch.com and Quasar Exchange
to deploy the XDI eProcess platform.

"Freightquote.com views a partnership with Netfish as a perfect fit. The
Netfish mission to enable enterprises to seamlessly automate business
processes between customers, manufacturers and suppliers by transacting
directly over the Internet is exactly what we had in mind when we developed
our freight ASP tools." said Jason Beer, director of business development
for Freightquote.com. "The result is great cost savings, tremendous
reduction in cycle time, elimination of errors, improved customer service
and satisfaction. It's a great situation for all parties involved."

"A secure and scalable platform gives us significant time to market
advantage," said Lennart Holgerman, vice president, e-commerce, Postgiro
Bank AB. "The XDI process hub provides us with a tool to become a market
leader in collaborative e-business and to integrate our existing payment
services with new functionality. This saves us time and money and enables us
to leverage our business relationships with our customers."

"We are glad to work with Netfish to leverage their capabilities for legacy
and ERP backend integration." said Jamie Schwartzman, VP Business
Development of SendOrder.com, the Commerce Interchange for B2B eFulfillment
Communications (EFC). "This extends our service's reach to send orders
electronically to ANY trading partner."
"We are happy to work with Netfish to leverage the XML B2B process exchange
capabilities that their product provides." said Jeremy Nurse, CEO of
RetailMetro, the leading B2B marketplace for the furniture industry.
"Netfish has the premier implementation of a standards based B2B exchange
platform and we are pleased to work with them for our backend B2B
integration" said Paul Whyatt, COO of WorldCatch.com, the leading B2B
marketplace for the seafood industry.

"We are excited about the opportunity to work with Netfish to provide a back
end integration and collaborative workflow solution for our
biopharmaceutical and semiconductor eMarkets " said Bill Li, Co-Founder and
Vice President of Engineering, Quasar Exchange. "Netfish's XDI Process Hub
is pure Java and XML based and therefore allows us to implement an extremely
flexible and robust platform to serve our customers B2B integration needs.
The ability to translate different types of XML based business documents
such as RosettaNet PIP's to EDI or xCBL will provide significant value to
Quasar Exchange customers" "

The XDI eProcess Platform
The XDI eProcess platform offers a complete solution that makes it easy for
portal operators to implement and administer advanced B2B services. At the
core of the system, the Netfish XDI Process Hub builds on Netfish's back-end
integration and collaborative workflow technology to enable end-to-end B2B
process integration. The Process Hub is supported by a resource library of
industry specific XML business documents, an update service for the resource
library, open distributed directory services, end-to-end security for B2B
transactions and customizable trading partner profiles and work flows.
Combined with the extensive support offered by Netfish's professional
service organization, portal operators have everything they need to unify
their enterprise customers' incompatible ERP, EAI and EDI systems,
facilitate any-to-any electronic business document exchange, ensure
end-to-end transaction security over the Internet and automate and manage
the workflows for complex B2B transactions.
"Netfish, with its XDI, B2B e-commerce system, is taking an important step
forward in addressing the opportunity of interoperable eMarkets. Their new
product line is an excellent example of delivering on the eCo vision," said
Mark Resch, president of CommerceNet. "Interoperable eMarkets provide
portal operators with an opportunity to be faster to market and offer new
services by completely integrating supply chain processes."

The Opportunity

The Boston Consulting Group estimates the dollar value of B2B e-commerce
transactions will grow by 33 percent each year between 1998 and 2003 to
reach approximately $2.8 trillion. Forrester Research estimates that by
2004, 53 percent of these transactions will occur through process hubs
(eHubs) like those made possible by the Netfish XDI eProcess Platform.
"B2B Marketplaces are moving towards complete integration of business
processes", said Hollis Bischoff, vice president, Meta Group. "Net Market
operators will need to deliver complete supply chain solutions that
integrate product design, manufacturing, procurement, delivery and
fulfillment."

Meeting the Challenge
The Netfish XDI eProcess platform helps portal operator meet the challenge
of migrating their existing trading portals to the next-generation of
process hubs by offering:

§ Back-End Process Integration - A powerful line of adapters provide tight
integration with a wide range of business applications from SAP, Oracle,
Baan, JD Edwards and other ERP, EAI and EDI systems.

§ Collaborative Workflow Between Trading Partners- Customizable trading
partner profiles and workflows coordinate multi-party interactions for
procurement, order entry, inventory control, design, manufacturing and
logistics, all the processes associated with a complete e-business strategy.

§ Any-to-Any Document Mapping and Translation - Flexible electronic document
mediation is handled transparently and automatically. The XDI Process Hub
resource library includes support for a variety of industry standard,
XML-based business documents, including EDI, RosettaNet PIP's, OAG BODs,
cXML, xCBL and BizTalk, which can be used to customize trading partner
interaction processes, and can be easily established by customers when they
subscribe to the back-end integration service.

§ Flexible Access - Back-end integration and collaborative workflow
functionality can be provided to portal customers via a web browser
interface, a customized portal client, the Netfish XDI Server or a variety
of third-party XML platforms.
Enhanced, End-to-End Security for Business Documents

The XDI Process Hub relies on the most advanced security and encryption
technology for ensuring safe transmission of sensitive documents. Digital
signatures applied to the documents authenticate the sender and ensure the
document was not modified by the recipient or during transmission.
Trading partners are able to configure the security and encryption methods
employed by their B2B communications through customizable encryption rates,
the addition of digital signatures and use of digital certificates from the
leading certificate authorities.

Easy Integration with Existing Portals
The Netfish XDI eProcess Platform integrates easily with an operator's
existing systems. The XDI Process Hub service interface provides seamless
integration with existing portal software. The Process Hub trading partner
management system supports open directory standards, and provides an open
interface for integrating with any existing trading partner management
system.
