-----Original Message----- From: Bryan Snyder [mailto:bsnyder@architag.com] Sent: Saturday, April 01, 2000 5:00 PM To: announce@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: Press Release Architag presents XML and E-Commerce Seminar ENGLEWOOD, CO – March 20, 2000 – Architag International Corporation presents the “Microsoft XML and E-Commerce seminar,” The event will be held in 21 cities nationwide via a simulcast satellite broadcast. This seminar is aimed at corporate and enterprise developers who are interested in sharing information with their business partners. “XML is a great syntax for business-to-business [B2B] information interchange because it is an open standard and flows easily through existing networks and firewalls,” said Brian Travis, Architag’s Chief Technical Officer. “The promise of corporate interoperability across different platforms can be realized by applying XML in a standard, industry-recognized framework. The BizTalk Framework for Application Interoperability provides a way to get business documents, such as purchase orders, medical records, and insurance claims, from one company to another. The Simple Object Access Protocol, SOAP, is used to build Web Services that allow companies to share information with their trading partners,” said Travis. “This is an important event for developers who need to understand these technologies right now. The theater format is designed to present the maximum amount of information in the least amount of time,” said Architag President Bryan E. Snyder. The 3½-hour event will be a combination of XML syntax overview and framework syntax and use. Several tools will be demonstrated, showing that the technology is ready to use today. "One of the important messages of the Microsoft XML and E-Commerce Seminar is to show that these technologies [XML, BizTalk, and SOAP] can be used today with existing tools from Microsoft and other vendors," said Robert Green, Visual Studio Product Manager at Microsoft. "With the knowledge they receive, and with the Web Services SDK and BizTalk Jumpstart Kit they will be given, attendees can get to work right away creating XML solutions. "In addition to the Web Services Toolkit, each attendee will receive a copy of Extensibility’s XML Authority schema development tool, a 120-day license of Windows 2000 Professional, the first XML-enabled operating system, the BizTalk Jumpstart Kit, OmniMark Web programming environment, an evaluation copy of SoftQuad XMetaL XML editor, and other tools on the seminar CD. The cities are Atlanta GA, Austin TX, Boston MA, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Denver CO, Houston TX, Irvine CA, Los Angeles CA, Minneapolis/St. Paul MN, New York NY, Philadelphia PA, Phoenix/Scottsdale AZ, Portland OR, Raleigh NC, Redmond WA, Salt Lake City UT, San Francisco CA, Santa Clara CA, St. Louis MO, Washington DC/Bethesda MD.
