EXTRICITY ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR IBM'S MQSERIES INTEGRATOR VERSION 2

Extricity Expands Joint XML-based B2B Platform Offering

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.-April 4, 2000-Extricity Software, Inc., the leader in
XML-based business-to-business (B2B) integration solutions, will support
IBM's MQSeries(tm) Integrator Version 2 that was announced today.
Extricity's Version 2 support augments and strengthens its partnership with
IBM that was announced last November. The two companies work together to
develop and deliver Internet-based B2B integration solutions based on
emerging industry standards such as XML. Under the previously announced
agreement, IBM resells and markets Extricity AllianceSeries(tm) B2B
solutions.

"IBM's extensive business integration software portfolio, combined with
Extricity AllianceSeries, offers today's most comprehensive B2B integration
solution to help companies easily automate integration and collaboration
among buyers and sellers over the Internet," said Bill Reedy, vice president
of marketing, business integration, IBM Software. "Extricity's support for
MQSeries Integrator Version 2 further provides a complete XML-based B2B
integration solution that effectively supports internal integration as well
as external multi-partner integration of complex supply chains such as the
new emerging Net markets."

Extricity AllianceSeries is tightly integrated with IBM's MQSeries product
family to provide a B2B integration platform that supports data transfer and
participation in shared business processes. It also offers the
multi-partner management and security features needed for integration with
customers, partners, suppliers and Net marketplaces via the Internet.
MQSeries Integrator's new native XML support streamlines integration with
the Extricity Alliance XML-based B2B integration platform.

IBM's MQSeries Integrator Version 2, its recently announced WebSphere B2B
Integrator software, combined with Extricity AllianceSeries, delivers a
complete e-commerce and B2B solution that integrates internal applications,
customer facing e-commerce sites and offers complete integration and
management of B2B multi-partner processes, respectively.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue to enhance IBM's
business integration leadership in the B2B e-commerce market," said Dave
Cope, vice president of marketing at Extricity. "The close synergy of our
product families provides a best-of-breed solution that enables today's
companies to use a single, integrated platform to simplify and seamlessly
manage the real-world complexity that exists among partners in today's
Internet-based trading communities."

IBM's MQSeries Integrator product family helps companies streamline their
business-to-consumer, business-to-business and application-to-application
computing environments regardless of platform or geography. MQSeries
Integrator Version 2 links, integrates and automates companies' IT
infrastructures quickly and easily. The new graphical icon driven features
of Version 2 makes it easy for non-programmers to create business rules and

productivity that enables companies to react quickly to change and
opportunities.
