Early Internet B2B Adopter Grainger to Discuss how to Leverage
webMethods B2B for a Successful Business-to-Business Integration
(B2Bi) Strategy

FAIRFAX, Va.-June 6, 2000-webMethods, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM), the

solutions, today announced it will host a series of Web-based
seminars (Webinars) in conjunction with Grainger to discuss how
webMethods B2B( enables companies to build and extend B2B
marketplaces for unlimited business advantage.

The Webinar series will address how Grainger, the leading North
American provider of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO)
supplies and related information to businesses and institutions,
leverages webMethods B2B to enable frictionless trading among
Grainger's vast business community of customers, partners and
suppliers. For fast and efficient B2B transactions, these
customers, partners and suppliers are connecting their disparate
information technology infrastructures to Grainger's digital
storefront, Grainger.com(r). By using webMethods B2B, Grainger is
able to provide buyers with real-time pricing and availability
information, integrate orders immediately into Grainger's backend
systems, maximize shared information and accelerate response
time, and increase revenue potential for the company and its
suppliers.

Leading the discussion will be Chris Barbin, vice president,
Professional Services, webMethods; Thomas Condon, vice president,
eBusiness Sales, Grainger; Richard Reese, vice president,
Corporate Architecture, Grainger; and Pramod Sachdeva, senior
consultant, webMethods. The speakers will discuss how to create a
successful B2B marketplace and how to expand the integration to
include multiple marketplaces.
