FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RioLabs Links Supplier EDI Systems into B2B Exchanges RioLabs Announces EDI to XML Translation Tool for Supplier Enablement DENVER, Colo. - July 18, 2000 - RioLabs announced Version 1.8 of its B2B supplier enablement product suite, Proximal, with new support for two-way EDI transactions. Using Proximal, suppliers can integrate complex EDI purchase orders, pricing, and inventory transactions with exchanges such as CommerceOne and Ariba. According to a recent AMR Research study, “It is estimated that about 80% of the dollar value of inter-company transactions among Fortune 500 companies is currently conducted via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). AMR Research expects that much of this volume will move to the Internet to take advantage of collaboration and other advanced supply chain techniques offered through trading exchanges.” “The importance of EDI in industries such as pharmaceutical, aerospace, auto manufacturing, and the computer/electronics industry is on the rise and we’ re very pleased to offer a comprehensive solution for these suppliers,” said Bob Hale, RioLabs Chief Executive Officer. RioLabs is able to support all domestic and international standards recommended by Rosetta, CommerceNet, and ebXML. To completely integrate with a B2B commerce exchange, companies must be able to provide live pricing information, real-time inventory information, and EDI-based purchase orders. This information is spread throughout enterprise databases and EDI implementations. Bob Hale comments, “RioLabs is the only company able to cost-effectively provide a complete supplier enablement solution that builds on both back-end data bases and EDI systems.” About RioLabs RioLabs’ provides the Proximal suite of tools for integration of suppliers into business-to-business e-commerce portals.
