Subject: OASIS Member News - Hypervision Ltd. releasing latest version of WorX technology

For immediate release                                                    June 28, 2000

WorX SE - XML Authoring Made Easy

HyperVision Ltd. will be releasing its latest version of the WorX technology at the Seybold conference in San Francisco at the end of August.  WorX SE is a standard addition to WorX™ for Word.   WorX SE allows users to prepare documents in Microsoft Word and store them as well-formed Extensible Markup Language (XML™) documents.  WorX SE operates in compliance with Windows NT and 2000.  The WorX technology is the most sophisticated XML authoring supplement to Word available on the market today.

Using a visual-editing environment in Microsoft Word, WorX SE provides the necessary support for the preparation of structured documents.  As an add-in to Word, WorX SE offers unrestricted access to the rich set of features and functionality offered by Word.  Users can retain their regular comfort level with Word without having to develop an in-depth knowledge of XML.

WorX SE supports XML DTDs (Document Type Definitions) or the Microsoft XDR Schema. Based on a DTD or Schema, WorX creates a template by using the WorX Document Administrator.  The templates drive the document creation, manipulation and information retrieval from various existing XML sources. The Document Administrator also provides mapping of elements from the template to the WorX SE Palette.  Through these functions, WorX SE allows users to have a more comfortable working environment inside Microsoft Word.

WorX SE provides support for real time updates of the document structure, robust metadata creation, W3C 1.0 compliant XML, and information retrieval for the reuse of existing XML information.  Most importantly, WorX SE provides a stable, structured, XML authoring environment within Microsoft Word.

WorX SE represents a consequential development in the field of structured authoring.  Bert Sheingate, President of HyperVision, indicated that based on years of experience of working with the broad authoring community, HyperVision has recognized the need to maximize the creativity of the original content author.  This can only be accomplished by letting the author use those tools with which they are comfortable and familiar.  Creative original authors want the comfort of using Microsoft Word as the canvas of creation.  HyperVision is committed to build solutions that successfully extend the comfort of Word to meet the requirements and guidelines of the structured XML standards. Bert states, “HyperVision is dedicated to bridge the flexibility of creativity with the structure and standards of XML as set forth by the W3C.”

About HyperVision Ltd.

HyperVision has been delivering high-end information strategies and consulting services since it’s incorporation in 1988.  Most of these services have focused on the enhancement of content-development business activities.  Since its inception, HyperVision has worked closely with the California Legislative Data Center, providing a variety of software solutions in support of legacy and new applications.  During the past 3 years, one such activity led to the evolution of the WorX technology.  HyperVision evolved the initial technology developed for California into a generic solution applicable to the broad cross-section of original content authors. This new generic offering of WorX Technology has rapidly become the most sophisticated XML authoring addition to Microsoft Word available in the market today.  With these achievements, HyperVision has committed its efforts and focus to the ongoing development, and distribution of innovative XML authoring solutions contributing to maximum content richness.
