Arbortext XML-Based Epic E-Content Software Chosen By Over 2,000 Global Customers ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 1, 2000 -- Arbortext, Inc., a leading provider of Extensible Markup Language (XML) –based e-content software for e-publishing, e-commerce, and B2B e-marketplaces, today announced its industry-leading Epic e-content software has been chosen by over 2,000 global customers representing over 42,000 product licenses. Arbortext was one of the original creators of XML and has flourished providing the world’s leading corporations with scalable and reliable XML-based content management software. Part of the success Arbortext has enjoyed lately is based on a variety of key announcements, including the launch of Epic 4.0, the industry’s most powerful XML-based e-content software. Epic 4.0 enables e-businesses to attract and retain more customers by providing the user with an improved Web experience in support of e-publishing, e-commerce and B2B e-marketplace applications. Principal among Epic’s enhancements is the introduction of the Epic E-Content Engine (E3). E3 is available to companies who require a server-side system to capture, convert, process, transform and deliver XML-based e-content. This system operates under a web server to provide high-end capabilities for personalizing e-content and transforming it for multiple formats including Web, wireless, eBooks, CD-ROM, print and PDF. E3 can also convert various proprietary formats to XML with initial support for Microsoft Word and HTML forms and November delivery of support for Adobe FrameMaker and Interleaf. Arbortext also recently announced with Oracle the availability of Arbortext’s Repository Adapter for Oracle iFS. This integration enables customers to connect Arbortext’s products to Oracle 8iFS, enabling them to easily integrate Epic Editor and Epic Editor LE (Lite Edition) to use 8i as a content management system for XML documents. “While it’s great to see the results we have recently achieved, it comes as no surprise to us here at Arbortext,” said Jim Sterken, president and CEO of Arbortext. “Corporations of all sizes are embracing XML, as it is clearly the new Web language.
