FAIRFAX, Va., and REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — October 11, 2000 — webMethods, Inc.
(Nasdaq: WEBM), the leading provider of business-to-business integration
(B2Bi) solutions, and BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading worldwide
supplier of personalized e-business applications, today announced a
strategic partnership to provide real-time integration of BroadVision®
applications over the Internet and into business systems of suppliers,
customers, and trading partners across the entire e-commerce ecosystem.

webMethods will allow BroadVision to package the webMethods B2B BroadVision
Adapter as part of the BroadVision B2B Gateway product to enable real-time
enterprise trade across BroadVision’s e-business value chain. The
BroadVision B2B Gateway product will deliver e-business integration to
trading partners: directly or through exchanges, as well as provide
integration to back-end systems and the analysis and reporting required to
make informed business decisions. The BroadVision B2B Gateway product will
leverage webMethods comprehensive B2Bi Solution Suite which includes PB2B,
enterprise, mainframe and partner integration capabilities.

With today’s announcement,This alliance will enable customers can to support
seamless business-to-businessB2B integration  between BroadVisionâ
One-To-Oneä and e-Procurement, MarketMaker, and Business Commerce
applications, and the customer’s buyer and supplier participants. As a
strategic tTechnology pPartner in BroadVision’s aAlliance pProgram,
webMethods has become become is one ofBroadVision’s preferred partners for
B2B integration methods    needs. As part of their agreement, BroadVision
and webMethods will closely work together to market and sell the joint
solutions on a worldwide basis.

Facilitating Real-Time Business Transactions

Using the BroadVision B2B Gateway -- based on webMethods B2Bi technology --
buyers and suppliers can be rapidly connected to the BroadVision e-commerce
application suite as well as integrate their internal Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain
Management (SCM) systems with business applications used by their business
partners, over the Internet in real time. The combined solution addresses
the challenges of integrating and managing disparate applications to
facilitate dynamic, real-time relationships between buyers, suppliers and
partners.

To develop the webMethods BroadVision Adapter, which is onea component of
the BroadVision B2B Gateway, webMethods is collaborating with Deloitte
Consulting, one of the world’s leading e-business consulting firms.

Pricing and Availability

Under the terms of the agreement, BroadVision will market and resell the
webMethods B2Bi solution suite, including the webMethods B2B BroadVision
Adapter, as part of its new BroadVision B2B Gateway, which is expected to be
available in the first half of 2001. Pricing will be announced at general
availability.
