TAIPEI, Taiwan---Nov. 2, 2000-- webMethods , Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM ), the leading provider of business-to-business integration (B2Bi) solutions, today launched the company's Taiwan operations at a media conference with Mr. Phillip Merrick, president and CEO of webMethods , Inc.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Merrick stated, "As the leading solutions provider of B2B integration software to Global 2000 companies and leading B2B marketplaces, we see significant opportunity in Taiwan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region."

"Taiwan leads the way in supplying IT and electronic components for global manufacturing industries," said Mr. Merrick. "Our goal is to assist Global and Taiwanese companies in integrating directly with their global customers, suppliers and partners; and to participate in the growing number of B2B exchanges."

webMethods has won significant business from Global 2000 companies and key B2B marketplaces, with a global customer base of more than 500 organizations. In Taiwan, early customers include United Microelectronic Corp., Asustek Computer Inc., and Ultima Electronics Corporate.
