Subject: OASIS Member News: Chrystal Software To Be Featured on Technology Today
Technology Today to Feature Eclipse and Chrystal Software Company's National Television Debut, Thursday, November 9 San Diego, CA - November 3, 2000 - Chrystal Software, a Xerox New Enterprise Company, is demonstrating nationwide the power of Eclipse, the company's solution for XML-based Web content management and dynamic assembly, on the Technology Today television show, airing on the Discovery Channel, November 9, 2000. The segment focuses on eCommerce technology, and includes interviews with Chrystal Software's Marc Hadley and Lightspeed Interactive's Patrick Casey. Hadley is the Chief Architect for Eclipse. Casey is Executive Vice President with Chrystal Software's strategic partner, Lightspeed, and is credited with developing and integrating innovative distance learning solutions as well as brisk Eclipse sales. In addition to Chrystal Software, this week's program will profile new technologies available from NightFire, Sentrycom, Singlepoint Systems and Zi Corporation. "Millions of viewers will see Eclipse at work in a variety of applications, specifically how Eclipse turns static Web sites into interactive e-commerce catalogs, training facilities, and knowledge portals," commented David Garnett, President and CEO of Chrystal Software. "The segment clearly demonstrates the value that Eclipse adds to XML-based Web sites by managing, assembling and delivering content from one platform to a variety of output devices." Eclipse is built on recognized Internet standards and an underlying architecture that provides the core functionality for content capture, content management, on-the-fly assembly, personalization, and business rules. It allows the use of familiar tools and applications. It provides full content management and is compatible with existing Web pages, Web design tools, Web browsers, Web servers, and XML authoring software. Eclipse fully supports XML and HTML data types. "When a page is requested, Eclipse generates the content from a set of components stored at a very granular level in a repository," explains Marc Hadley, Chief Engineer for Chrystal Software. "It then formats that content as a Web page specific to the user and the delivery device, whether it's CD-ROM, print, wireless devices, Web, or interactive television." Technology Today's eCommerce edition featuring Eclipse and Chrystal Software airs on the Discovery Channel, November 9" 7:00 a.m. Eastern; 6:00 a.m. Central; 8:00 a.m. Mountain; 7:00 a.m. Pacific.
