Interwoven and Bowstreet team to manage and proliferate custom content
across B2B marketplaces and portals

Integration enables non-technical business managers to easily extend content
across multiple XML-based "business webs"

LYNNFIELD, MA, and SUNNYVALE, CA, November 29, 2000 - Bowstreet
(www.bowstreet.com), a leading provider of business web automation solutions
for plug-and-play e-commerce, and Interwoven Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the
leading provider of enterprise-class content management solutions, today
announced a co-marketing, co-selling and product integration alliance. This
alliance is designed to enable businesses to manage and deploy custom
content across XML-based "business webs," including B2B marketplaces and
portals.

Interwoven TeamSite content management software speeds the creation of web
sites and web applications by allowing both technical and non-technical
contributors to develop and test web content prior to publishing, and to
integrate and web-enable content from disparate sources including database
data, word-processing documents and presentations. At the same time,
TeamSite provides centralized control through its sophisticated workflow
capabilities. The Bowstreet(tm) Business Web Factory allows non-technical
business people to use a graphical point-and-click interface to deploy
TeamSite-managed content in customized combinations to an infinite number of
customer, partner and supplier sites. This process automates the
proliferation of content across business webs of interconnected companies,
saving all parties the time and expense of hard-coding customization
features into each partner web site.

For example, a manufacturer may want to provide premium distributors with a
unique web experience comprised of content and business processes. The
manufacturer can use TeamSite to integrate content from several sources,
such as pricing from legacy systems, a product description from a Microsoft
Word document, and a product image from a digital archive. Using the
Bowstreet Business Web Factory, the salespeople can provide selected
distributors with a customized mix of product catalog content and business
services based on parameters such as industry, credit status, commitment
level, purchasing history and location. Bowstreet's product assembles the
content and any associated business services on the fly into a custom
business web tailored for each distributor. When content is updated in
TeamSite, these changes are automatically incorporated into corresponding
business webs.

"Bowstreet makes it easy for customers to rapidly extend custom content
across business webs to thousands of customers," said Frank Florence, vice
president and general manager of the B2B business unit at Interwoven. "The
result is a tight linkage on the web between what a buyer is looking for and
the content a business web presents."

"TeamSite makes Bowstreet-powered business webs richer, stronger and more
reliable," said Bob Crowley, Bowstreet's president and CEO. "By leveraging
the power of XML in both Bowstreet and Interwoven's solutions, customers can
proliferate content across the extended enterprise, including B2B exchanges
and portals."

Bowstreet's approach of interconnecting companies in dynamic business webs
is based on the Bowstreet Business Web Factory's foundation in XML, a common
language of e-commerce, and on its dynamic change-automation technology.
TeamSite Templating, which eases content contribution by separating form
from content, also allows subject matter experts to automatically tag
content with XML-based metadata. This metadata, which is fully version
controlled like all content managed by TeamSite, is used by the Bowstreet
Business Web Factory to help business managers make decisions about how to
target that content.
