Press Release

XML Global Signs Letter of Intent to Acquire Bluestream Database Software
Corp.

Vancouver, B.C., December 7th, 2000, XML Global Technologies, Inc. (XMLG
OTC:BB) (www.xmlglobal.com), architects and builders of XML powered
e-business platforms, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent
to acquire Bluestream Database Software Corporation, a privately held
company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Bluestream(tm) is a database
company specializing in developing and implementing native XML database
technology.

The cornerstone of a successful XML based e-business platform is to have
search, transformation and storage capabilities seamlessly integrated into a
single software solution. The combination of XML Global's premier searching
system, GoXML(tm) and its patented EDI/XML transformation software,
ExpressXCHG(tm) with Bluestream's native XML database technology will
provide just such a fully integrated XML based e-business platform. By
incorporating these three key XML based technologies for searching,
transformation and storage, XML Global will be in the unique position of
being able to offer Global 2000 companies a complete XML based business
platform solution.

"This acquisition has come at exactly the right time for XML Global and our
strategy of focusing on the e-business platform market," said Peter Shandro,
CEO of XML Global. "With leading standards bodies and key industry
participants, including Microsoft, Oracle and IBM, all working on major XML
initiatives, it is clear XML technology is underpinning the next evolution
of the Internet. By integrating the core computing functions of searching,
transformation and storage into one dedicated XML based solution," continued
Shandro, "XML Global will be able to confidently offer global corporations a
robust and highly scalable XML based e-business platform."

Under the terms of the agreement it is expected that XML Global will acquire
all of the outstanding shares of Bluestream for a combination of cash and
stock of XML Global Technologies, Inc. Bluestream's management team and
database specialists are all expected to join XML Global. The final terms
and conditions of the acquisition will be approved at special meetings of
the Board of Directors of each company. The acquisition is expected to close
by December 31st, 2000.
