XML Global Completes Acquisition of Bluestream Database Software Corp.

Vancouver, B.C., January 19th, 2001, XML Global Technologies, Inc. (XMLG
OTC:BB) (www.xmlglobal.com), a product focused XML powered e-business
platform company, is pleased to announce that it has completed the
acquisition of Bluestream Database Software Corp., a privately held company
based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Bluestream(tm) is a database company
specializing in developing and implementing native XML database technology.

Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, XML Global Technologies, Inc.
has acquired all of the outstanding shares of Bluestream for cash of
$243,000, payable in installments over 120 days,  $82,000 of assumed debt
and 100,000 shares of XML Global Technologies, Inc. Bluestream's CEO and
Founder, Jim Tivy, along with one other XML database specialist, will join
XML Global to continue their work with native XML database technology as it
relates to XML Global's strategic e-business initiatives.

Bluestream's proprietary native XML database technology will be re-branded
as GoXML(tm) DB and will join GoXML(tm) Search and GoXML(tm) Transform as
XML Global's three key software products targeting the essential business
functions of data storage, search and transformation. These core software
products are modular, scalable and interrelated and can be used as
standalone solutions from the GoXML(tm) Foundation product suite. In
addition, GoXML(tm) Foundation is integrated as a component of GoXML(tm)
Central, a complete XML based e-business platform for global electronic
marketplaces. With these focused XML based initiatives XML Global can offer
Global 2000 companies a complete and integrated XML based e-business
solution.
