Cincom Joins Forces with OASIS to Support XML

CINCINNATI, Ohio - April 11, 2001 - Cincom Systems, Inc. has joined forces with OASIS, the international interoperability consortium, to support the development of industry standards for XML. Many organizations are already turning to OASIS for help in defining their XML standards, and for some time, Cincom has been extensively enhancing its products to fully support XML inflow and outflow. OASIS sponsorship is part of that direction.

"By joining OASIS, Cincom demonstrates its commitment to enabling interoperability through the use of open, public standards such as XML," said Laura Walker, executive director of OASIS. "We are pleased to welcome Cincom to the consortium and look forward to the contributions they will make to the work of OASIS."

Cincom joins more than 140 organizational members, including the world's leading technology firms, who use XML to solve business problems. OASIS members provide, use and specialize in the implementation of technologies that make standards work in practice and are dedicated to lowering the barrier of entry to internet-enabled business.

"XML standards will define the pathway to innumerable application implementations. Cincom's data technology solutions promote XML industry standards as the answer to making data useful," said Robert Jablonski, Director of Cincom's Data Server Technology Solutions team.

Cincom plans to be on the leading edge with XML standards for intelligent document generation systems, as well. Along with other OASIS members, Cincom shares a strong commitment to enabling interoperability through the use of public, open standards such as XML. We see the value in creating industry standards, which will enable formerly disparate third-party applications to communicate with each other with very little interface coding issues."
