Discreet Selects Arbortext’s Epic E-Content Engine for XML-based Single-Source
Publishing Solution

Arbortext software delivers personalized documentation for state-of-the-art digital
content creation software provider


Ann Arbor, Mich, June 18, 2001 – Arbortext, Inc., the only global provider of
XML-based software for single-source publishing to multiple media types, today
announced that Discreet, a division of Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) and a worldwide
leader in digital content creation, management and distribution tools, has selected
Arbortext’s Epic software for the creation and delivery of personalized documentation
to support its digital content creation software.

Discreet develops the systems and software for visual effects, 3D animation, editing
and production for the creation of digital moving pictures in films, video, HDTV,
broadcast graphics, interactive games and the web.  To support these offerings,
Discreet manages over 20,000 pages of documentation.

Arbortext’s Epic software will make it possible for Discreet to convert its software
documentation to XML to enable information reuse and to automate publishing to
multiple types of media on an as-needed basis according to individual customer
requirements.  Through the use of Arbortext’s Epic software, Discreet will eliminate
redundant processes, automate manpower-intensive processes, reduce document
preparation costs, and speed information to market through the reduction in revision
and update cycles.
