Bowstreet and Choreology to create business web transaction "proof of
concept"

LYNNFIELD, MA and LONDON, ENGLAND, July 25, 2001 - Bowstreet
(www.bowstreet.com) and Choreology Ltd. (www.choreology.com) today announced
that the two companies plan to collaborate to produce a "proof of concept"
implementation for the emerging standard for business web transactions.

The Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards
(OASIS) is currently defining the Business Transaction Protocol (BTP)
specification. BTP will be an open, XML-based standard that will allow
trading partners to reliably coordinate elements of their business
processes.

Bowstreet and Choreology are both active in the BTP Technical Committee
(www.oasis-open.org/committees/business-transactions), whose work is slated
to be adopted as an OASIS Committee Specification by September 2001. The two
companies have agreed to exchange expertise and information, and together
are building a prototype of a BTP application that demonstrates the protocol
engine and XML message set.

The joint project combines Choreology's deep background in transaction
processing with Bowstreet's leadership in web services and XML-based
solutions. The companies plan to apply the results of this joint work to
assist OASIS in finalizing the BTP specification.

Choreology Managing Director Alastair Green said, "We noted Bowstreet's
understanding of the importance of XML-based web transactions when we formed
our company at the beginning of this year. This collaboration will help
OASIS members bring extended or cohesive transaction processing capabilities
to a wide range of web service providers for financial transactions,
e-procurement and other applications."

Choreology began work earlier this month on a commercial implementation of
the BTP protocol. The product, Choreology Cohesion, will be introduced to
the market in the first half of 2002. Cohesion is the first part of a plan
to provide software vendors and enterprise software users with products that
answer the hard technology problems posed by serious, high-value electronic
commerce.

Bowstreet has been an early proponent of and leader in web services since
the company's inception in 1998, and has championed the importance of XML in
enabling interoperation between business partners' automated systems. The
Bowstreet Business Web Factory is used to create and manage a new class of
dynamic, web-native applications composed of plug-and-play web services.
Using the Business Web Factory, companies can connect on-the-fly with their
partners and customers to achieve extended business reach and adapt to
change in minutes instead of months. The vendor-neutral Business Web Factory
consumes any vendor's web services and uses open standards to deliver
significant, total cost of ownership savings across diverse e-business
initiatives. Bowstreet's Business Web Portal Solutions, powered by the
Business Web Factory, are a suite of products that speed development and
deployment of massively customizable portals for many of today's most
pressing e-business initiatives, including enterprise information sharing,
eCRM, syndicated storefronts, corporate intranets, partner extranets and
supply chain collaboration.

James Tauber, Bowstreet's director of XML adds, "Bowstreet has always been
committed to interoperable web services standards. With our expertise in web
services and Choreology's expertise in transactions, working together on a
BTP proof of concept is a natural fit."
