B-Bop Author wX adds integrated support for publishing DocBook Documents

Allows MS Word users to easily create DocBook documents with no XSL
programming

Burlingame, Ca., October 16, 2001. B-Bop Associates, Inc, a leading provider
of XML data management software and solutions announced today that it has
added out-of-the-box support for the DocBook Version 4.1.2. DTD in Xfinity
Author wX, its popular MS Word to XML authoring tool. Using Author wX,
authors can now easily create structured documents conforming to the DocBook
DTD using the familiar MS Word environment.

"Businesses want to eliminate the costs and errors associated with manual
conversion to multiple formats. They want a solution their business users
can use without costly re-training", said Gordon Fair, Product Manager for
Xfinity Author. "Our customers have selected Author wX because it is
easy-to-use and hides the complexity of XML from the user."

"We find a large number of customers using the DocBook DTD for publishing
reports, technical documents and product information to the Web. With this
new functionality, Author wX users can now save their Word documents to the
DocBook DTD without additional mapping or XSL programming."

DocBook is an XML/SGML vocabulary originally designed for publishing books
and papers about computer hardware and software. The DocBook Technical
Committee maintains the DocBook schema. DocBook is officially available as a
Document Type Definition (DTD) for both XML and SGML. Version 4.1.2. is the
currently supported version for XML.

From DocBook, content is easily published to HTML, PDF and other formats
using XSL stylesheets. The DocBook DTD and an extensive set of sample XSL
stylesheets to accomplish these transformations is available at
www.docbook.org. Thus Author wX users can now rapidly implement a complete
solution for multi-channel publishing using the DocBook standard, without
the need for extensive stylesheet development.

Xfinity Author wX allows organizations to meet these demands for real-time
publishing and re-usable content without the significant cost of manual
conversion or extensive user re-training. Author wX easily integrates with
content management systems and supports the use of user-defined XSL
stylesheets to transform their MS Word content into any XML DTD. To view
examples of the output generated by Author wX, please visit:

Xfinity Author wX version 1.3 is available for Microsoft Word 2000 for
Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000. For additional information on
