Subject: [announce] Call for Articles for Office of Intergovernmental SolutionsNewsletter
OASIS members: GSA's Office of Intergovernmental Solutions (OIS) newsletter is seeking articles for their next issue on how governments are using XML applications to deliver relevant government information and services to citizens. The GSA newsletter identifies trends and successes in utilizing information technology around the world and provides highlights from federal, state, local and international governments, as well as industry and academia. Specifically, they are soliciting articles in the following areas: · Government web sites and web applications using XML · XML in Government Portals, "Smart Portals" · XML in search technologies · Development and/or adoption of standardized XML schemas and data elements · Registry/Repositories for XML specifications, schemas, and vocabularies · Improved portability through XML · Centrally compiling and displaying common data from multiple databases and platforms · XML's tools for Accessibility · Examples of improved interoperability across organizations · XML and purchasing and finance operations · Miscellaneous XML in Government If you would like to submit an article to the newsletter, please contact Lisa Nelson at lisa.nelson@gsa.gov or 202-208-2530 as soon as possible. Articles should be short and concise (approximately 1,000 words) and be submitted electronically by November 9, 2001. Please include the author's name, title, organization, telephone number, and e-mail address.
