Vordel TalkXML uses XKMS to deliver Web Services security

November 16, Dublin, Ireland 2001– Vordel, the Web services security company,
announced today that its TalkXML (tm) product has successfully demonstrated
interoperability with XKMS (XML Key Management Specification).

Vordel’s achievement is significant because it demonstrates the use of digital
certificates in a Web services environment. Security is a critical feature for
the widespread adoption of Web services; XKMS provides an XML-based framework
for digital certificate verification whereby key management tasks are performed
by Internet ‘trust utilities’. This framework ensures that inter-company
transactions, whether conducted in a machine-to-machine or person-operated
environment, can be conducted with confidence across a broad range of enterprise
applications.
