FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COMPUTERWORLD SELECTS NEOCORE AS EMERGING COMPANY TO WATCH IN 2002
NeoCore receives award for its work in XML technology innovation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - December 3, 2001 - NeoCore, a provider of high-performance XML information management systems, has been named one of the Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002.  NeoCore earned the distinction in the data-management category for its product, NeoCore XML Information Management System (XMS), an extremely fast native XML database built on the company's patented Digital Pattern Processing technology.

Organizations selected to be Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002 are those companies that are making significant, innovative contributions to the information technology industry and corporate computing and are worth watching in the year ahead.  Companies were evaluated on their ability to demonstrate value to corporate information technology operations, for creativity and innovative thinking, and for their ability to execute strategy in new and emerging markets.

"In selecting the Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002, the editors and panel members emphasized innovation," said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of Computerworld.  "These companies are creating products or services that present a new and creative approach to an IT issue, while demonstrating that they have the foundation, vision and strategy to succeed in the years ahead."

To determine this year's Top 100 Emerging Companies, a panel of Computerworld editors and a select group of information technology influencers comprised of senior-level executives who are both providers and users of IT reviewed nominations.  They chose the final list of 100 innovators based on the following criteria:

- The company and its technology offer demonstrable value to corporate IT operations; the product or service addresses problems or challenges that IT managers face.
- The company is innovative; the product or service presents a new and creative approach to an IT issue and competes in a relatively new or emerging market; the product is viable.
- The company demonstrates positive signs of an ability to execute its strategy (revenue, revenue growth, funding and stable management team.)

"We are honored to be selected by Computerworld as a solution provider that brings significant value and innovation to corporate IT," said Tim Dix, Chairman and CEO of NeoCore.  "Today's business applications demand a new level of flexibility where information can be defined and changed without the typical time and cost constraints of traditional databases.  NeoCore XMS is ideally suited to be the information backbone for this kind of business agility in 2002 and beyond."

The Computerworld Top 100 list can be found in the November 26th issue of Computerworld magazine and online at www.computerworld.com.
