Arbortext Signs Oracle, GE Power Systems and Dynegy Among 64 New
Customers for Fourth Quarter

Experiences 14% growth for fiscal year ending December 31, 2001

ANN ARBOR, Mich., January 28, 2002 -- Arbortext, Inc., the only global
provider of XML-based software that enables the creation, editing and
publishing of information to multiple media types from a single source
of content, today announced that the company’s revenues for the fiscal
year ending December 31, 2001, grew 14 percent from the previous year.
Fueling this growth was the addition of 64 new customers during the
fourth quarter, including Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL), GE Power Systems and
Dynegy (NYSE: DYN).

"This year has been rewarding for us,” said Raymond Schiavone, President
and CEO for Arbortext. “We continue to be successful in delivering
multichannel publishing solutions with a compelling business case and
provable ROI - a must for IT investments to be funded in today’s
environment. As a result, we’ve signed many large, multinational
organizations as new customers, introduced new products and
capabilities, and entered into several strategic partnership alliances.
We are well positioned to continue this growth and look forward to a
successful 2002.”

Arbortext’s Epic product suite enables organizations to create a single
source of information and automatically assemble and publish that
information for multiple audiences to multiple types of media: Web,
print, CD-ROM, wireless and more. Through Epic, Arbortext’s customers
are experiencing the benefits that an XML authoring and multichannel
publishing solution offers, including reusing rather than recreating
information, eliminating costly manual efforts by automating the
publishing process, and reducing both the cost and time to market of new
and improved products.

“Our research indicates the top three factors that organizations seek
when evaluating vendors are their product’s ability to meet the
requirements, their understanding of the business problem, and their
stability,” said Michael Maziarka, Director at CAP Ventures, a leading
research and consulting firm. “Arbortext’s success is not a surprise
because they can directly address these factors: they develop products
which support current needs and future requirements; they continue to
take a leadership role in the industry; and they can reference their
extensive experience.”

integrations with two leading content management providers, Interwoven
