Arbortext Announces Co-Marketing Alliance with Software AG

System integrates Arbortext’s Epic, Software AG’s Tamino and X.Systems’
GEMt to provide organizations with integrated XML content management
system

ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 27, 2002 -- Arbortext, Inc., the only global
provider of XML-based software for multichannel publishing, today
announced it has entered into a Co-Marketing Alliance with Software AG,

Through this alliance, Arbortext and Software AG are utilizing X.Systems’
GEMt product, a content management system that integrates Arbortext’s
powerful Epic XML authoring and publishing software with Software AG’s
native XML server, Tamino. GEMt, based on software developed by
X.Systems, integrates with Tamino and brings the power and simplicity of
native XML content management together with X.Systems’ focus on
productivity in the information life cycle. GEMt is currently used at the
U.S. Health and Human Services Agency.

“The integration between Arbortext, Software AG and X.Systems presents a
powerful combination for organizations that require state-of-the-art XML
support in a content management system,” said Michael McDowell, Vice

publishing to a variety of media formats, including print, Web, CD-ROM and
