Arbortext Announces Planned Support for Documentum 5

ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 10, 2002 -- Arbortext, Inc., the only global
provider of XML-based software for multichannel publishing, today
announced its intention to support Documentum 5, the next generation
enterprise content management (ECM) platform from Documentum (Nasdaq:
DCTM), the leader in ECM. The planned support strengthens the partnership
and provides customers with an XML-based enterprise content management
system for the creation, management, delivery, and archiving of content,
including complex business and technical documents.

The two companies have worked together to deliver integrated, seamless
content creation and management systems for global 2000 enterprises.
Through the integration of Arbortext’s Epic products with Documentum 5,
organizations can take advantage of a host of new capabilities, including
enabling multiple authors within and beyond enterprises to simultaneously
collaborate on content and thus expanding the collaboration capabilities
of Documentum 5. Arbortext’s Epic augments the ease-of-use of Documentum
5 by enabling end-users to create XML content and to store and manage it
natively in the Documentum 5 repository without having to leave the Epic
user interface. Further, Epic extends the compliance capabilities provided
by Documentum 5 that enable customers to comply with new regulations
addresses by Documentum 5.

“Arbortext continues to develop products that align with our vision of
supporting business initiatives through an XML-based ECM system,” said Jay
DeWalt, vice president of partner management for Documentum. “The close
cooperation between our companies enables us to provide organizations with
an ECM system that offers a compelling, provable ROI through improved
information quality and reduced expenses by eliminating costly manual
efforts during authoring and publishing.”

“Documentum has an impressive history for developing scalable and reliable
solutions that evolve with an ever-changing industry,” said PG Bartlett,
vice president of marketing for Arbortext. “By integrating our Epic
software with the Documentum 5 ECM platform, organizations will have the
advantage of everything an XML-based solution has to offer: a
standards-based approach to gathering, creating, managing, transforming,
delivering and archiving information to a variety of media formats.”
