Arbortext Receives Computerworld’s
Innovative Technology Awards 2002

Inaugural Customer Choice Awards recognizes progressive
vendors that provide continuous and measurable value
through innovation

ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 1, 2002 -- Arbortext, Inc., the
only global provider of XML-based multichannel publishing
software, today announced that Computerworld presented one
of its Innovative Technology Awards to Arbortext for its
work with US Airways in pioneering more efficient aircraft
service and maintenance processes.

Computerworld’s inaugural annual customer choice awards
recognize excellence and innovation in technology
applications for business operations that result in better
business processes and reduced costs. US Airways was
delighted to nominate Arbortext for its ability to help
improve aircraft maintenance processes and shorten downtime.

“Arbortext provided a solution that helped US Airways reduce
aircraft maintenance time by reducing the time spent
searching for information by as much as 80 percent,”
said Stanley Davis, manager of electronic publications at
US Airways. “In an industry which relies on efficient
aircraft utilization, quicker and more effective maintenance
adds valuable flight minutes to the day.”

Information technology customers nominated more than 200
technology vendors for consideration in the 2002 awards.
A 15-person panel of industry luminaries then evaluated
vendors’ technology for originality, successful
implementation, proof of continuous value, enhanced
competitive edge, and improved business or technology
operations. The award criteria included demonstrable
value to corporate IT operations in Fortune 1,000
companies.

“It’s an honor to receive this award on behalf of our
work with US Airways,” said Ray Schiavone, chief executive
officer of Arbortext. “We admire US Airways’ strategic
vision that revamped service and maintenance processes to
achieve efficient management of its aircraft fleet.”

The Innovative Technology Awards 2002 winners are published
in Computerworld’s September 23, 2002 issue. Among the ten
award winners are IBM and Software AG.
