Arbortext Receives Computerworld’s Innovative Technology Awards 2002 Inaugural Customer Choice Awards recognizes progressive vendors that provide continuous and measurable value through innovation ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 1, 2002 -- Arbortext, Inc., the only global provider of XML-based multichannel publishing software, today announced that Computerworld presented one of its Innovative Technology Awards to Arbortext for its work with US Airways in pioneering more efficient aircraft service and maintenance processes. Computerworld’s inaugural annual customer choice awards recognize excellence and innovation in technology applications for business operations that result in better business processes and reduced costs. US Airways was delighted to nominate Arbortext for its ability to help improve aircraft maintenance processes and shorten downtime. “Arbortext provided a solution that helped US Airways reduce aircraft maintenance time by reducing the time spent searching for information by as much as 80 percent,” said Stanley Davis, manager of electronic publications at US Airways. “In an industry which relies on efficient aircraft utilization, quicker and more effective maintenance adds valuable flight minutes to the day.” Information technology customers nominated more than 200 technology vendors for consideration in the 2002 awards. A 15-person panel of industry luminaries then evaluated vendors’ technology for originality, successful implementation, proof of continuous value, enhanced competitive edge, and improved business or technology operations. The award criteria included demonstrable value to corporate IT operations in Fortune 1,000 companies. “It’s an honor to receive this award on behalf of our work with US Airways,” said Ray Schiavone, chief executive officer of Arbortext. “We admire US Airways’ strategic vision that revamped service and maintenance processes to achieve efficient management of its aircraft fleet.” The Innovative Technology Awards 2002 winners are published in Computerworld’s September 23, 2002 issue.
