Subject: [announce] Announcement: Government and Industry IT leadership joinforces in launching SecurE-Biz CxO Summit: April 1-2, Pentagon Hilton

RE: Spring '03 SecurE-Biz CxO Summit
April 1-2, '03, Pentagon Hilton, Arlington, VA
703-768-0400 www.SecurE-Biz.net

On April 1-2, in Wash. DC, thought leaders from Government and industry will
again gather for the fifth annual SecurE-Biz CxO Summit. These titans of
the IT world will share best practices and lessons learned in conducting
e-Business, effectively and securely. SecurE-Biz provides an interactive,
hype-free forum where CIOs, CFOs, CTOs, CEOs, CAOs, and CSOs articulate
Actionable Architectures and CIO Strategies for implementing the President's
Management Agenda in the areas of e-Business, Homeland Security, IT Capital
Planning and Enterprise Architectures (www.FEAPMO.gov).

"We see the conference as a catalyst promoting the sharing of 'lessons
learned' achieving future cost savings and efficiencies within the federal
IT community," stated Lee Holcomb former chair of the Federal CIO Council,
Architecture and Infrastructure Committee in 2002.

The theme for the '03 SecurE-Biz Summit is; "Solution Architectures for
E-Gov and Homeland Security". Information about CxO Summit (past and
current), attendance, sponsorship and the Advisory Board can be found at
www.SecurE-Biz.net. The Advisory Board will be meeting with our Platinum
Sponsors on Jan 24th to finalize the program and identify our Distinguished
Speakers for the '03 Summit.

To serve the needs of the entire IT value chain, SecurE-Biz will run in
parallel, two interactive tracks (one for CxOs, the other for architects and
system designers) which will cover the following topic areas in depth;

CxO Strategies Track: "Models for e-Business Transformation":

- Citizen Centric, Business Architectures: Convergence of State, Federal and
Commercial best practices
- Information Sharing Strategies for Homeland Security and Critical
Infrastructure Protection
- Linking Capital Planning and IT investments through Enterprise
Architectures
- Applying the Business Reference Model and Performance Metrics (BRM, PRM)

Applied Architectures Track: "Delivering Business Outcomes through IT":

- Secure Web Services: building a common platform for e-Business and e-Gov
- Evolving Solution Architectures for US President's 24 e-Gov initiatives
- Component-based Architectures: The missing link between business drivers
and technical solutions
- Incorporating emerging e-Biz standards into the Service Component
Reference Model and TRM.

Enterprise Architecture Bootcamp:

For select organizations who want to re-engineer their IT Planning and
Architecture Team, a two day, in depth workshop for those interested in
understanding how to apply Component-base Architectures in developing the
new OMB FEAPMO reference models. In depth presentations will be given by
top practitioners from ICH, BAH, Unisys, OMB, GAO and chairs from the IAC
Enterprise Architecture SIG.

SecurE-Biz Thought Leadership Awards:

Members from the press, Advisory Board and Federal CIO Council are invited
to submit nomination. The 03 SecurE-Biz Leadership Awards program (led by
Dave McClure of the Council for Excellence in Government) will recognize
government and industry thought leaders who have made a difference in
transforming their business processes with improved service to the
"customer".

"The words I repeatedly hear are ‘substantive, meaningful, useful,
thoughtful and professional.’ You guys really put together a first rate
conference that (unlike many other conferences in this town) actually tries
to identify and solve some very difficult problems. You should all be proud
of your significant contributions to the future of the Department!" stated
the 2001 DoD Deputy CIO with regard to the past success of the SecurE-Biz
conference series.
