For Immediate Release

Corel and SiberLogic Offer Collaborative XML-based Development Solution
for Technical Publications

New Solution Speeds Publishing and Reduces Administration Costs for
Franklin University and the LSED of the U.S. Army's Armament Research,
Development and Engineering Center

Ottawa, Canada - August 12, 2003 - Corel Corporation (NASDAQ: CORL, TSX:
COR) and SiberLogic Inc. today announced that Franklin University and
the Logistics Support Engineering Division (LSED) of the U.S. Army's
Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center have adopted the
companies' new collaborative Web-based XML content development solution.
Featuring Corel(R) XMetaL(R) for ActiveX(R) for content authoring and
SiberLogic's SiberSafe XML content management system, the solution
requires virtually no installation or maintenance time by end users or
administration staff, providing a cost-effective way to deliver remote
XML authoring and reviewing capabilities, wherever and whenever it is
required.

Franklin University deployed the Corel/SiberLogic solution to develop
courseware for student curriculum delivered to print, Web and CD. The
tools give faculty members frequent and direct access to the content of
the documents, helping them to collaborate on course content creation.
Using the system, Franklin University can reuse course content across
different curriculums and maintain content variants for different
audiences. As a result, the university easily publishes its curriculum
into a variety of media while ensuring content accuracy via an online
collaborative review process.

"Franklin selected the combined SiberLogic and Corel solution to
streamline curriculum content creation and review by faculty," said Mark
Hanes, chief technology officer at Franklin University. "This enables us
to accelerate our course development process and meet our publication
deadlines. Teams of curriculum developers, instructional designers and
faculty members can collaborate on authoring and reviewing the same
documents at the same time. In addition, the solution integrates into
our existing course delivery software."

Robert Vermilyer, associate vice president for academics and technology
at Franklin University, added, "Franklin's innovative integration of the
Corel/SiberLogic solution into its existing courseware systems has
helped sustain the University's position as a leader in providing
higher-education to working adults."

The LSED of the U.S. Army's Armament Research, Development and
Engineering Center has selected the Corel/SiberLogic solution to develop
XML content for Ammunition Malfunction Investigation Files, Technical
Manuals and Supportability Strategy Documents. SiberLogic's workflow
automation engine combined with Corel XMetaL for ActiveX enables
military subject matter experts and technical writers around the world
to contribute and review XML content through their Web browser.

"The Corel/SiberLogic solution enables teams of engineers and writers to
simultaneously add annotations to an XML document for review.
Additionally, all the annotations are archived along with important
metadata for quality control purposes. The workflow automation engine
routes XML documents through subsequent stages of their development life
cycle, including their authoring, reviewing, comment disposition and
publishing," said Joseph Cannataro, chief, systems support engineering
team of LSED (U.S. Army).

This new Web-based XML content authoring solution integrates Corel
XMetaL for ActiveX with SiberLogic SiberSafe, creating a collaborative
environment for authoring and managing XML content. Corel XMetaL for
ActiveX is an authoring interface that can be downloaded through a
virtually invisible process and embedded into a Web browser, enabling
end users to create XML content in an easy-to-use environment. As a
result, organizations can cost-effectively provide XML authoring
capabilities to thousands of casual contributors without the need for
special training or time-consuming software installation.

SiberSafe is an XML content management tool designed specifically for
technical publications. SiberSafe enables XML content to be easily
reused and re-purposed, tailored for different audiences and published
to multiple formats including print and Web.

"Our relationship with SiberLogic allows us to provide our customers
with a powerful solution for creating and managing their XML content,"
said Bruce Sharpe, vice president of XML content solutions for Corel.
"SiberLogic's strength in technical communications combined with the
flexibility of our ActiveX control provides customers like Franklin
University and the Army's LSED with a solution that extends XML
authoring throughout their organizations."

"Corel XMetaL for ActiveX lets us offer greater flexibility to our
customers - easily delivering tools for XML authoring and editing to
editors and reviewers, when and where they need it. By offering an
easy-to-use and cost effective XML publishing solution, we are lowering
the barriers to XML adoption," said Alex Povzner, chief technology
officer of SiberLogic.
