XyEnterprise XML Web Services Powers Publishing Solution for LexisNexis UK

Enterprise Publishing Technologies Produce Significant Results

READING, MA - October 27, 2003 - XyEnterprise, the leading developer of XML
content management and enterprise publishing software, announced today that
its XML Professional Publisher (XPP) Web Services technology has been
deployed to support a sophisticated XML content management and publishing
solution for LexisNexis UK. This solution supports LexisNexis UK in the
seamless publishing and delivery of its well-known legal, tax and regulatory
services and publications to a wide variety of customers and markets.

The XyEnterprise Web Services-based system, in production use for case
reports, enables LexisNexis UK to deliver editorial content from their
Content@ Content Management System (also provided by XyEnterprise) to
Letterpart, a UK-based publishing services provider. Letterpart hosts the
XPP application that composes the source XML data for final print and PDF
publication. Through the Web Services interfaces, LNUK editors have the
ability to proof, modify, and publish their documents in a browser from
virtually any location. Letterpart is located in Reigate, Surrey.

“XyEnterprise’s XPP Web Services technology adds even more versatility to
our XML-based publishing process, particularly for editors working in remote
locations,” says Phil Caisley, Editorial Systems Manager at LexisNexis UK.
“Overall, the system allows us to produce our complex publications in a
timely, cost-effective manner.”

Chris Leggett, Managing Director of Letterpart, says, “The use of Web
Services brings XPP’s powerful automated composition directly to LexisNexis
UK and has enabled us to better serve an important customer while realizing
the benefits of a more automated process.”

Richard Pasewark, vice president of Sales and Marketing, XyEnterprise, says
that XPP Web Services can enhance publishing efficiency and workflow across
a variety of organizations and industries.

“Content@ and XPP have proven themselves in the most demanding military,
government and commercial XML applications,” says Pasewark. “Adding our Web
Services technology eliminates geography as a constraining factor in
collaborative content creation, editing and publication.”
