CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - April 5, 2004 - DataPower Technology, Inc., the

infrastructure, announced the appointment of Mark Taber to the position
of Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Channels. Taber joins DataPower
at a time of rapid growth, global customer success and continued
leadership for its award-winning XML-aware networking (XAN) devices
including the XS40 XML Security Gateway and the XA35 XML Accelerator.

With more than 20 years of experience with large enterprises, channel
partners, system integrators (SIs), value-added resellers (VARs) and
original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Mark brings stellar sales
expertise for networking, security and storage systems. He joins the
unrivaled experience of the DataPower executive and technical management
team that has quickly taken the company that invented XAN to market and
technical leadership in the XML Web services and security industry.
Already a landslide of networking and application industry leaders have
partnered with DataPower to accelerate the adoption of XAN, including
Sun, IBM, Computer Associates, Netegrity, F5, Altova, and most recently,
GrandCentral.

Before joining DataPower, Mark served as Vice President Sales at AEP
Systems where he focused on secure enterprise networks and secure remote
access for commercial businesses.  Prior to that, Mark was Vice
President of Sales and Marketing at Chrysalis-ITS and worked with
computing and networking OEMs focusing on the efficient processing of
security protocols.  Mark has also worked at Toshiba America Information
Systems, Storage Division, where he grew the company's business from a
few million dollars to more than $300 Million.  Mark holds a BS
Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
