Subject: Arbortext Honored as One of "Top 100 Private Companies" for Second Consecutive Year

ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 7, 2004 -- Arbortext, Inc., the leading provider
of Enterprise Publishing Software, today announced its inclusion on the
AlwaysOn Top 100 Private Companies list for the second consecutive year.

AlwaysOn and KPMG’s emerging business practice, KPMG1Start, identified
the 2004 AlwaysOn Top 100 (AO100) companies based on their demonstrated
leadership and innovation in two key areas: market traction measured by
revenue or customer growth, and new approaches and technologies that are
likely to cause significant change to existing markets and
well-established players

"Private company innovation is incredibly strong and continues to
flourish. Only 50 of last year's AO100 companies returned to this year's
list and 50 new companies have been selected that are well positioned to
significantly contribute to the second-generation of the Internet," notes
Tony Perkins, AlwaysOn founder.

”We are honored to receive this recognition with the other innovators and
leaders in the technology industry,” said Raymond Schiavone, President
and CEO for Arbortext. “This award reinforces Arbortext’s market and
technology leadership in XML-based Enterprise Publishing Software.
Organizations around the world have chosen our software to streamline
publishing processes that increase the quality of information being
delivered, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction.”
Arbortext’s placement on this list expands upon an already impressive
list of prestigious awards, including:
·	The American Business Awards - “Stevie Award for Best New Product”
(2004)
·	KMWorld Magazine - “100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management”
(2004, 2003)
·	Econtent Magazine – “Content 100” list (2003, 2002, 2001)
·	AlwaysOn – “Top 100 Private Companies” list (2003)
·	The Seybold Report Editors’ “Hot Picks: Must See New Technologies”
(2003)
·	VentureReporter’s “Top 25 Companies to IPO” (2003)

Arbortext also continues with impressive financial success, including 12
straight quarters of record revenue and continued expansion into Asia
Pacific, Latin America and Europe.

AlwaysOn, the media company that covers innovation in technology and
business, compiled the list with assistance from KPMG1Start. The two
groups surveyed more than 1,000 venture investors, investment bankers,
top entrepreneurs and executives who nominated more than 800 companies
for the competition. The full list can be found at
