Subject: Recordare Releases Dolet for Finale on Macintosh OS X

LOS ALTOS, CA (August 30, 2004) - Recordare LLC, an Internet music
software and publishing company, has released a Macintosh OS X version
of its Dolet for Finale plug-in. Dolet for Finale 2.0 lets Finale for
Macintosh users exchange files with any other programs that support the
MusicXML format.

Recordare's Dolet plug-ins serve as "universal translators" between
music notation programs. Finale users on OS X can now read files
produced by programs including Sibelius, PhotoScore Professional, and
Virtual Composer. They can also write files that can be read by programs
such as Igor Engraver, MuseBook Score, and capella playAlong. Finale
2004 users can now read files produced by Finale 2005. Dolet for Finale
2.0 provides the most accurate two-way translation of any MusicXML
software to date.

"Dolet for Finale 2.0 is another milestone in MusicXML's development as
a universal music notation format," stated Michael Good, CEO of
Recordare LLC. "On Windows, MusicXML has been a key part in launching
innovative new products like the MuseBook Score for Piano. We already
see our OS X release stimulating exciting new developments in the
Macintosh world."

Recordare has also released maintenance updates for its Dolet for Finale
plug-in for Windows and its Dolet for Sibelius plug-in for Macintosh and
Windows. These updates include support for Finale 2005 and more
improvements in translation accuracy.

MusicXML is supported by over 35 different programs running on Windows,
Macintosh, and Linux systems. These include the leading music notation
editors on both Macintosh and Windows (Finale and Sibelius), leading
music scanning programs (SharpEye Music Reader and PhotoScore
Professional), plus electronic music stands, play along programs,
algorithmic composition programs, sequencers, and tablature editors.
This combined support makes MusicXML far and away the most widely
adopted music notation format since MIDI.
