Chicago, IL, February 14, 2005 - SarvegaT, Inc, the leader in XML
Networking solutions, announced today its latest software release for
its market-leading Sarvega XML GuardianT Gateway. Release 5.0, available
now, brings together levels of performance, security, ease of use and
management for securing XML Web Services applications that are not
available with other solutions. 

Powered by Sarvega's wire-speed, portable and flexible XESOST
technology, the Sarvega XML Guardian Gateway is used for some of the

Simplified Provisioning of XML Web Services Security Policy - Through
the Sarvega Command CenterT (Note to Editors: Please see related
release: Sarvega Extends its Market Leadership with the Sarvega Command
Center,  February 14, 2005), a user can automatically generate the
default security policy for the Sarvega XML Guardian Gateway with only
the WSDL definitions. A security policy pipeline can be customized using
a simple drag-and-drop mechanism with an unlimited number and order of
Web Services security policy decisions. The Sarvega Command Center's
palette of pre-built security policy actions includes support for
raw-XML and ebXML security, local and delegated Authentication,
Authorization and Access Control (AAA), logging and auditing, and XML
threat mitigation.

Demonstrated Security Performance Leadership -- The XML Guardian Gateway
can perform XML Signatures verification or encryption at over 1,700
transactions per second and support validation throughput at up to
Gigabit levels. This performance has been validated in independent
testing* using detailed performance testing of real-world Web Services
use cases. 

More Powerful, Easy-to-Configure XML Intrusion Prevention - Release 5.0
of Sarvega's XML  Guardian Gateway adds sophisticated protection
mechanisms for a range of XML attack patterns and anomalies including
coercive parsing, password guessing threats, SQL code injection, dirty
word filtering, external entity protection and XML security
vulnerabilities. Using the Sarvega Command Center, users can easily set
configurable attack protection on the basis of any WSDL, service,
endpoint, operation or custom specification. Combined with a powerful
multi-layered Denial of Service (DoS) protection mechanism, the Sarvega
XML Guardian Gateway offers the most comprehensive security against XML
Web Services threats and vulnerabilities.

New Easy-to-Use Security Dashboard - The latest release of Sarvega's XML
Guardian Gateway adds a real-time security dashboard to its Web
interface consisting of a highly granular, configurable and graphical
view of the Web Services traffic, based on operations, endpoints,
security failure, performance and operational statistics. Additionally,
it provides the viewer simple real-time security alerts and provides a
per-alert drilldown to improve forensic investigation.

Dynamic Security Property Association - With Release 5.0, the XML
Guardian Gateway becomes the first XML Web Services security solution
that not only offers device and service virtualization, but also enables
each security policy action to dynamically associate security properties
based on real-time traffic. As a result, each variation in web services
traffic does not require a new security policy to be created, and the
gateway enables secure yet loose coupling of applications.

Access Control added to robust AAA functionality - The new version of
the XML Guardian Gateway adds access control capability to its already
robust local and delegated AAA functionality. Fine-grained access
control rules can now be provisioned at a Web Service or an operations
level with user-defined roles.

Expanded Protocol and Standards Support - Release 5.0 of the XML
Guardian Gateway also adds ebXML, SAML Token support, SOAP with
Attachments, MIME Attachments, and SMTP transport support to its robust
feature-set to deliver a Web Services security solution that can support
enterprises' different application requirements.

Enhanced Security Alert , Logging and Monitoring Support - Release 5.0
now provides enhanced and customizable security alerts, with automatic
navigation to the in-depth view of logs resulting from the security
policy execution for root cause analysis.
