SOA Software Acquires ThoughtDigital

Extends Its SOA Product Suite With New Publish and Subscribe Technology

Santa Monica, Calif.—March 14, 2005—SOA Software
(formerly Digital Evolution), the leading provider of comprehensive SOA and Web services management, security and governance solutions, announced today that it has acquired New York-based ThoughtDigital LLC, adding powerful event-based reliable messaging technology to SOA Software’s award winning product portfolio and increasing SOA Software’s presence in the eastern United States.

The new technology from ThoughtDigital together with SOA Software’s Service Manager, Registry and XML VPN combine to create the most complete SOA fabric solution available today. SOA Software’s products are proven market-leaders in Web services management, security and UDDI—three of the essential parts of an SOA. ThoughtDigital’s innovative event-based reliable messaging technology adds the fourth cornerstone, increasing the breadth and strength of SOA Software’s leadership in the market.

As large enterprises continue to adopt SOAs, many are finding that they need to apply service-oriented methodologies to real-time, event-driven applications. To do this, they need to ensure the security and reliability of the events they publish.  SOA Software is integrating the new event-based messaging technology with its existing product line to offer complete SOA governance for event-driven applications as well as the more traditional client-server architectures.

"SOA Software continues to demonstrate its commitment to SOA infrastructure solutions," said Jason Bloomberg, senior analyst at ZapThink LLC. "The addition of reliable message technology rounds out SOA Software's fabric approach, and makes SOA Software a one-stop shop for companies looking for a managed, secure, and event-driven SOA infrastructure solution."

ThoughtDigital focuses on SOA solutions for Oracle E-Business Suite and developed a strong event-based messaging platform for use in its solutions.  SOA Software is integrating this technology into its core products. The New York-based ThoughtDigital will become SOA Software’s eastern U.S. presence.

“The number of enterprises planning and implementing an SOA is rising rapidly, creating a critical need for complete SOA infrastructure solutions,” said Paul Gigg, CEO of SOA Software. “The addition of ThoughtDigital’s leading-edge technology and strong east coast presence solidifies SOA Software’s leadership position and we are better poised to meet the growing demands of our customers worldwide.”
