Reactivity Demos WS-Security Interoperability
Participates in 14-Vendor OASIS WS-Security Interop Event at Gartner Summit
BELMONT, CA, ApRIL 27, 2005 – Reactivity®, Inc. the leader in secure XML infrastructure, last week participated with 13 other industry leaders for the first time to demonstrate interoperability of the WS-Security OASIS Standard at the Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Summit in Los Angeles. The Reactivity Security Gateway demonstrated its ability to interoperate with products from the other vendors during the exchange of messages protected by WS-Security using the X.509 Token Profile.
WS-Security provides the foundation layer for a variety of secure Web services, laying the groundwork for higher-level facilities such as federation, policy and trust. The standard defines a set of Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) extensions, or message headers, that can be used to implement integrity and confidentiality in Web services applications, and allows a wide range of key security methods such as authentication and access control to be reliably, readily associated with SOAP messages.
Gartner analyst Ray Wagner described WS-Security as “the standard for the majority of Web services...committing to it now will allow enterprises to easily modify the security profile of deployed Web services in the future.”
