Subject: Reactivity Securely Breaks Large XML Message Barrier

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Reactivity Securely Breaks Large XML Message Barrier

Multi-Mode Messaging Enables Unlimited Operations on Messages of Any Size Without Compromise

BELMONT, Calif., May 23, 2005 - ReactivityR, Inc. the leader in secure XML infrastructure, today unveiled multi-mode message
processing, the industry's first approach that breaks the large XML message barrier to enable unlimited operations on XML messages
of any size without compromising security or system efficiency. A part of Reactivity's unique Adaptive Message Architecture,
multi-mode message processing for the first time enables enterprises to balance security, speed, message size and policy for their
XML Web services systems on a per service and per message basis, giving operators the control and choices they need to optimize
processing parameters to match their particular service needs.

Multi-mode processing enables multiple disk-based, network-based and in-memory message processing mechanisms to co-exist. Robust
store-and-forward processing of XML messages of unlimited size opens the door to more possibilities for secure XML large message
processing such as SOAP message with large attachments and batch XML, while preserving security, performance and control. It also
enables adaptive utilization of memory, local storage and the use of specialized hardware such as the Tarari RAX Content
Accelerator. All validation, transformation, XML threat defense, identity and access control, data security, infrastructure
integration, routing and other functions can be performed on the entire message before it is handed off to back-end services,
resulting in more efficient use of back-end services and significantly greater security. For applications where smaller message
sizes are assured and where speed and high security are utmost, multi-mode processing also supports full, in-memory message
processing. Alerts and full reports detail the risks and results of processing optimization and errant traffic.

"Enterprises no longer have to wait to deploy XML Web services because our innovative Adaptive Message Architecture with multi-mode
processing eliminates message size constraints while providing the control operators need to tailor processing factors for their
application and enterprise," said Andrew Nash, CTO at Reactivity. "Enterprises have thought that the size and complexity of XML
limits its use to smaller messages and the applications that work that way. With Reactivity, there are no limits."

The Reactivity Adaptive Message Architecture is the foundation of the Reactivity Gateways - the XML Security Gateway optimized for
B2B deployments and situated in the DMZ; the SOA Gateway optimized for cross data center deployments. Reactivity Gateways are the
heart of Reactivity's Secure XML Infrastructure, delivering message transport and security services, identity and access enforcement
services, transformation and mediation services and message policy management services.

"The inability to effectively handle the complexity associated with XML messages will limit the performance and utility of XML Web
services," said Gartner analyst Mark Fabbi. "The ability to tune XML processing and make decisions on how to balance security,
performance and other factors, enterprises can maintain the control they need to ensure it meets their service requirements."

"Reactivity's forward looking Adaptive Message Architecture allows us to keep pace with the explosion in XML messaging traffic as
we continue the expansion of our national and global Web services offerings," said Christopher Crowhurst, Thomson Learning vice
president and principal architect. "By removing the limits on message size, we can begin to think about new kinds of applications
while ensuring the best balance of speed, security and policy for each service.
