This year's programme will feature presentations from public sector experts
including Karel De Vriendt, Head of Unit of the European Commission
Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General and Mark D. Ferrar, Director of
Infrastructure, Technology Office of NHS Connecting for Health. Other
sessions will address advances and accomplishments in security standards and
the latest in open source software.

Programme Highlights

Identity Management Sessions ~ featuring:
-Practical cases within various sectors including the healthcare and
financial industries, illustrating their successes and lessons learned. -New
approaches addressing where individuals have greater control over personal
data. -The reasons behind why governments are making identity management
choices. -Potential changes offered by open source software. -Consistent
approaches to identity management, as well as projections on what the future
might hold.

SOA and Web Services in Security Sessions ~ featuring:
-Identifying and addressing security-related issues around the construction,
deployment, and maintenance of SOA frameworks.  -Considerations and
implications in selecting a federated identity model within your SOA
infrastructure. -What you can expect from the Web Services Reliable
Messaging specification. -Concepts, technologies, and standards involved in
Semantic Web Services. -Real-world deployments of WS-Security.

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) ~ featuring:
-Plans for a new draft protocol and a demo of an open-source tool that has
already implemented the protocol. -Approach used to secure communication
between federation members of the E-Authentication initiative. -Security and
implementation needs behind identity authentication and authorization within
e-government.
