Top executives from BEA Systems, EDS, IBM, Primeton, SAP, and Sun Microsystems
and will debate the progress and future of SOA at the upcoming OASIS Symposium.
In a panel led by Anne Thomas Manes of Burton Group, prominent open standards
supporters will address the topic, "Years of Web Services & SOA: You Are Here."

DETAILS:
Five years after the Web services standardization process began, leaders in the
open standards community will come together to discuss the state of Web
Services and SOA methods. Panelists will rate current developments and give
their best predictions for the future.

* The SOA panel is the culmination of the annual OASIS Symposium, where
technical and business professionals explore open standards technologies. The
program will feature some of the industry's most relevant and controversial
topics such as eCommerce, SOA, Web Services, Systems Integration, Content
Management, Security, Information Sharing, and much more. OASIS Standards such
as OpenDocument, WS-BPEL, UBL, DITA, and more will be covered. 

* New This Year:
-OpenDocument Workshop will focus on the implementability of using applications
that comply with the OASIS- and ISO-approved format that enables users of
varying office suites to freely exchange documents. Adoption, accessibility,
programmability, and future enhancements to OpenDocument will be covered. 

-WS-BPEL Workshop will clarify the value this new standard offers for defining
SOA business processes. The event will examine common scenarios in which
WS-BPEL should be applied and explore usage of advanced constructs.
